Coach Conyers

Justin Conyers started his coaching career in 2010 at Western Branch High School in Chesapeake where he graduated from in 2008.  Coach Conyers served in a multitude of positions on both sides of the ball.  Coach Conyers last stop as an assistant came in 2015 at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy where he served as Defensive Coordinator help leading the Saints to a TCIS Championship and a VISAA Division III State Championship. In the spring of 2016 American Football Monthly released a five disc DVD by Coach Conyers on the 4-2-5 defense. In January of 2016, Coach Conyers became the youngest head coach in the state when he was named the Head Football Coach at Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

As a parent of a young athlete, you appreciate how dedicated coaching combined with a fun environment can make all the difference. We produce a sports camp experience that your child will talk about for years.

 

Each of our coaches has guided their own kids up through the ranks of youth sports with great success. In many cases, they've coached their own kids' teams - so they know first-hand how you feel. Your athlete will rave about their summer when they spend it playing sports with Mach1academy, LLC. 

As League President, Kawanna aids in keeping Mach1academy goals and makes sure your child has a great time.

Coach Burk

Coach Burk raised in a military family grew up in Winston Salem, North Carolina and St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Hazelwood Central High School a 6A school in Missouri where he was a standout football player. Burk went on to play Division I college football at Ball State University graduating in 2009 with a Business Administration degree/ Sport Admin minor. Following his football career he was invited to try out with the Arizona Cardinals in 2009 and the Dallas Cowboys in 2011.  He is a coach for the Virginia Beach Mustangs Pop Warner and Ocean Lakes HS (6A) in Virginia Beach.. He is also a Personal trainer while mentoring many of our local rising youth football talent.

Bruce Lee, CFO

Bruce is a former college scholarship football player. He now holds a bachelors in Business Administration and a Masters in Accounting and Financial Management. He brings experience as a former athlete and will assist in the training, development, and recruiting of Mach1Academy student athletes.

Coach Colvin

Coach Michael comes to Mach1 with over 25-years of football coaching experience at various levels.  Arrived from S.E.C country after spending over 10-years with several “Powerhouse “football programs in Florida and South Carolina where he was widely known for developing “Wide-Open” offense schemes and overly-aggressive situational defense. Pioneer in re-inventing young players to meet the evolving challenges of high school football and the educational requirements associated. Currently committed to reviving Kempsville High School football, where he has recorded back-to back one lost seasons with their junior varsity program. Coach Michael is a retired veteran with over 20-years in the United States Navy where he served honorably. Married for over twenty years to Rhonda and has a son Michael Jr. whom all resides in the great city of Virginia Beach.
